Soul Cafe

2 Samuel 6: 1-5, 12b-23

Here is a link to the reading:

Our Scripture reading for worship is David dancing before the ark as it is brought back to Jerusalem. David is so filled with praise and worship that he loses any self-consciousness and is completely God-conscious. His wife, Michal, seems embarrassed, maybe even offended, by his lack of decorum. Tell me what you think!

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and insights.

Hmmm...I guess I would be miffed too if the one I loved was "strutting his stuff" in front of everyone. Seems like David was acting like us humans...doing things on impulse, following the crowd, thinking we are doing what we should, but really not. Kinda like spring break in Daytona. Dancing, having fun, then having to suffer the consequences later. But it is so easy to get caught up in dancing to our own beat and not having God in our hearts at all times. Was Michal barren because she could have no children...or because David had to sleep on the couch?
